There are 6 components of severity that a clinician would need to assess. Divide & conquer:

1 - Meds (2 meds): use of SABA; use of oral corticosteroids
2 - ADL (2 ADL's): any interferences with normal daily activities?; sleep? - nighttime awakening?
3 - Symptoms of the lungs (2 things): symptoms? lung functions  x2 (FEV1 & FEV1/FVC)



Remember symptoms frequency assessment is the same as use of SABA assessment
