Normal (positive Rinne): AC>BC (mnemonics: A>B alphabetically)
Abnormal (negative Rinne):
.Conductive hearing loss: BC>AC or AC<BC
.Sensorineural hearing loss (partial): Normal results (i.e., AC>BC)
.Sensorineural hearing loss (complete): no sounds whatsoever (no AC, no BC)
Mnemonics: A>B alphabetically
(Note: may try to massage the tragus of the non-tested ear to prevent conduction thru bone to the good ear)
