Wonder Me!
Paper prescription w/ signature ONLY to retrieve the drug from the pharmacist. But pharmacist can take fax order to fill. However, pharmacist cannot provide pt/NP with the drug until paper is submitted to the pharmacist.

Refill: 00  zero!

Exceptions to paper, may fax if:
- Non-PO schedule II drugs such as IV, IM, SubQ, Parenteral, intra-spinal
- Long-term care facilities (nursing homes)
- Hospice paid by Medicare

Emergencies: think excessive nosebleed! => verbal order ok! However, within 1 week, NP must supply paper prescription to PharmD. Otherwise, DEA!
